The AI hype cycle has a new entrant, and it's already being sold as the thing that will finally make your CRM smart.

Anthropic quietly began a tightly controlled release of Claude Mythos — framed as a significant step forward in AI reasoning and reliability. The details are sparse, the access is limited, and the vendor announcements are already warming up. Early coverage is careful and credentialed, but the pattern is familiar: a new capability lands, and within weeks every CRM vendor is claiming it's baked into their platform.

Here's what that means for you practically: nothing yet — and that's the honest answer. The vendors who've already disappointed you will absorb this into their roadmaps, announce an AI feature at their next conference, and charge you for it in a tier you don't currently have. The frustration you already feel about your CRM not fitting how your team actually works doesn't get fixed by a smarter language model sitting on top of a rigid data structure.

AI can surface patterns in your customer data, draft follow-ups, flag at-risk accounts. But only if the underlying CRM reflects how your business actually operates. Garbage-in, garbage-out applies to artificial intelligence the same way it applies to every report you've had to re-pull three times this quarter.

A model that reasons better doesn't fix a system that was never built for your workflow in the first place.
