OpenText just announced deeper AI integration with Salesforce — essentially layering AI-generated communications on top of CRM data. The pitch is that AI can now help draft and personalize outreach using what lives in Salesforce.
Here's what that actually means: the vendors are finally admitting that CRM data alone doesn't tell the full story. Contracts, email threads, service tickets, call notes — the stuff that lives outside the CRM record — is what actually captures how a customer relationship is going. Without that context, AI just writes confident-sounding emails about the wrong things.
