The vendors building AI into their platforms aren't doing it for you. They're doing it for their stock price.
Microsoft, Salesforce, and ServiceNow are all posting strong numbers off AI growth. Analysts are excited. Investors are happy. The press releases are flowing. What that actually means is these companies are doubling down on features that make their earnings calls look good — not features that make your Monday morning easier.
For you, this translates to one thing: more complexity headed your way, dressed up as innovation. Expect new AI add-ons that require premium tiers, new consultant-dependent implementations, and another layer of tooling sitting on top of a foundation that still doesn't fit how your team actually works.
You've already been through the cycle — big platform, big promises, slow rollout, and a system your team routes around instead of uses. AI sprinkled on top of a rigid CRM doesn't fix the rigid CRM.
The companies getting real value from AI in their sales ops aren't the ones who bought the biggest platform. They're the ones who first got their data and workflows clean enough that AI had something useful to work with.
Vendor momentum is not the same thing as a solution to your problem.
