Moving companies are one of the last industries where "good CRM" still means a whiteboard and a prayer.

A new market report puts moving company software growth at 11.2% CAGR. That number sounds impressive until you realize most of that growth is vendors selling the same rigid platforms to an industry that has never been well-served by off-the-shelf tools. Local movers, long-distance operators, international freight — they all get lumped into the same software category, then handed the same overcomplicated product that was built for someone else's workflow.

If you're running ops for a moving company or a similarly field-heavy service business, you've felt this. Jobs have too many variables — crew size, truck availability, storage, timing windows, customer communication touchpoints — for a generic CRM to track without a consultant building custom objects every six months. So you end up with workarounds layered on workarounds, and customer details fall through anyway.

The market growing fast doesn't mean the right solution exists yet. It means more vendors are entering a space full of frustrated buyers who have already been burned at least twice.
